An implant mimics a natural tooth. It has a root form, usually made of titanium, that is surgically implanted in your jawbone. In two to six months, your jawbone will fuse to the implant. A dental crown is secured to the top of the implant. Dr. Morgan performs both the implant surgery and the crown placement. A missing tooth leaves an empty space. Without tooth roots to stimulate the jawbone, the bone begins to shrink. The “All On 4” dental implant treatment involves surgically placing four implants. The implants support a fixed set of porcelain teeth to maintain your jaw’s structural integrity. The four implants integrate with the jaw to mimic the pressure placed on it by your natural teeth.
The name “All On” comes from the fact that the set of porcelain teeth is anchored directly on the four implants rather than needing an implant for each missing tooth.
